Athens, Greece

Bakis Sirros (founder/main member of Parallel Worlds) started playing music 14 years ago while studying medicine at the University of Athens. After years of studies, he's finally found time to compose the sonic landscapes he'd always imagined.
Parallel Worlds music is a combination of dreamy, atmospheric textures with pure analogue electronic rhythms and sequences. It is a melodic and emotional sound, combining the feel of 70s electronic music with modern electronica and ambient music. Their influences include: Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze, Robert Reich, Steve Roach, Vangelis, Jean Michel Jarre, Biosphere, Autechre, Plaid, Plone, Seefeel and other experimental artists. Parallel Worlds mainly use vintage and new analogue modular synthesizers, plus some digital synths and sampling. Bakis is the moderator of the Doepfer A100 modular system Yahoo! users group.
Parallel Worlds have performed live in Greece at the E-PHOS Electronic Music Festival in 2001, the Second Summer In The City Festival in 2005 and other venues. They are recording their fourth album and a collaboration project with Ingo Zobel, of the German IDM/ambient group DRON.
